DESCRIPTION: Metropolitan Park 4/5 is a 699-unit, 22 story residential building with ground floor retail. The project accelerates completion of the Metropolitan Park Development Plan, eliminates incompatible uses on the border of Pentagon City and Crystal City and removes an abrupt if not violent gap in the urban environment along 12th Street. Designed to maximize the activation of the 12th Street pedestrian streetscape, the grocery store includes substantial outdoor café space, transparent windows, and multiple store entrances and will serve to attract large numbers of customers throughout the neighborhood further blurring the arbitrary Eads Street boundary between Pentagon City and Crystal City. SPECIAL FEATURES: This building consist of 699 residential a total of 782,342 square feet of retail space, with a grocery store (Whole Foods) comprising 40,413 square feet of the ground floor. The building will incorporate multiple rooflines with a maximum proposed height of 22 stories (260.7 feet).
