DESCRIPTION: Towson University’s Burdick Hall, home of many Campus Recreation programs and services, is currently under construction for an extensive expansion. The Burdick Expansion features a 94,000-square foot addition located on the south side of the building closest to the athletic fields. The addition will house two multi-purpose athletic courts, an elevated sprint hill, a mind and body studio for yoga and Pilates classes, a dedicated cycling studio and a combat studio. A new indoor challenge course will offer apparatus similar to those seen on the popular American Ninja Warrior television show made famous by Towson alum Kacy Catanzaro.
GSF/OSF: 94,000 square feet.
SPECIAL FEATURES: LEED Silver certification. Two multi-purpose activity courts. An elevated sprint hill. Five studios for group fitness classes. Re-opened 33-foot climbing wall and 33-foot pinnacle. Expanded outdoor adventure trip and education center. A functional fitness course, as well as 22,000 square feet for fitness space for strength, cardio and functional training.
